Are you familiar with the PMG Registry and some of our new sets?

Posted on 2/25/2013

The PMG Registry is the largest online community of currency collectors and includes over 2,500 individual sets registered by collectors in over 300 different categories.

Collectors can use the Registry to catalog and display their PMG-certified notes online. Competitive sets are predefined by PMG and allow collectors to rank their collection alongside other great collections. Members can compete for awards, gain recognition, and, best of all, share their passion for collecting. Only PMG certified notes are eligible for the PMG Notes Registry.

In competitive categories, each note receives a score. The Registry uses a scoring algorithm that accounts for the rarity, desirability, grade, and value of each note, and then “smoothes the curve” to enhance the competitive opportunity. Rare notes in Type Sets do receive significant score bonuses over more common issues, so you’re rewarded for your star notes and scarce signature combinations. EPQ designated notes also receive score bonuses, and comprehensive scoring tables can be viewed for every note.

New Competitive Set definitions are continually being added to the Registry based on requests from users. Recently, PMG created a new US Category - Confederate States of America and a new Singapore World Category. The Confederate States category features seven sets and the Singapore category contains ten sets including Orchid and Bird Series definition sets.

We've also added a new Korea category with 6 sets and updated the existing South Korea category to include ten new sets for a total of 15.

Have a look and pick out the set that interests you. Happy Collecting!
