Way back in the early days, "when coins was coins," I had newspaper routes, worked at a friends gas station and would hit the bank for roll checks. There was plenty to find, SLQ's, Mercs, Buffaloes, Walkers and a Franklins to name a few. That got me started. After a long hiatus of many years, I got back in with slabs and put together a nice Walker run in the late 80's-mid 90's. I learned a lot and build a nice set then put it away. I found a new niche in classic commemoratives and I am currently working on several sets type & long sets. I look for coins with exceptional eye appeal, color and the "look." I also have recently played with proof coins of 1950-1964. Unlike the old days were I could build a collection through pocket change... well you now the rest of the story...pony up the $$$$ to build that set.
