TijuanaDagger's Bio
Well it has been a life of ups and downs when it comes to comic collecting. I was in Middle school when Superman died and that is all it took to hook me. I had always been fond of Super-Hero stuff but that first experience of going to a comic shop is what sunk the hooks in. I would go every Wednesday to buy anything Superman that was released. I even owned the Time Magazine knock off of Superman's Death. Of course my new found love did not stop there, I soon went into the #1 craze and Special Covers. Then I grew up...literally.
I started living my life and the next thing I know, I stop buying comic books and move out of my Mom's house leaving my books behind. Then tragedy strikes, I return home years later to find my books have gone missing. Whether he is willing to admit it or not my brother sold my books. At this point, in my moment of weakness I decided that I would forever let go of my childhood passion. Then I met my wife.
While my wife had never read a comic before she did not seem to be bothered my affinity for all things Super-Heroes. It did not take long for my childhood passion to creep to the front of my thoughts. I decided to start reading again but slowly and the cheap way...TPBs. This is where I stumbled upon my favorite character the Flash. Geoff John's run on the Flash was amazing and the Rogues are the best Rogue's gallery out there. If truth be told it might the Rogues that I truly love about the Flash.
During time I was very lucky to get my wife interested in reading as well. She quickly became attached to the female characters with her favorite character being Supergirl. She has branched out to male characters because of her expose to them from the Teen Titans. After this my wife and I decided to start a collection. In the three years that we have collected we have gathered over 5000 books and quickly approaching the 6000 mark.
This past October we decided to give the CGC a try and needless to say we are again hooked. We are hoping to complete slab runs of our two favorite characters Flash and Supergirl. Of course we will be grading a few of favorite books that are not those characters as well.
