CYPRUS, QUEEN VICTORIA 1/4 PIASTRE 1901.
1900 and 1901 1/4 piastre issues were smaller in diameter (21 mm) than previous issues (21.8 mm), but excactly the same weight.
OBVERSE: Young head of Victoria facing left and wearing a coronet ornamented with oak and scrolls.
REVERSE: 1/4 within a beaded circle.
ENGRAVER: Leonard Charles Wyon.
DIAMETER: 21 mm
WEIGHT: 2.91 g
EDGE: Plain.
METAL COMPOSITION: Copper 95%, Tin 4%, Zinc 1%.
MINTAGE: 72,000
RARITY: Very rare in any condition.

A coin of superb quality. Well struck overall with at least 80% original glowing luster.
NGC: Tied with four other specimens as finest known.
