The Acadia National Park Quarter was released on June 11, 2012, as the thirteenth coin in the America the Beautiful Quarters series.

Located in Maine, Acadia was the first national park established east of the Mississippi River. The park is home to Cadillac Mountain, the highest on the Atlantic Coast. It offers a rich variety of habitats and landscapes. The Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse is the prominent feature depicted on the coin’s reverse.
