The Great Sand Dunes National Park Quarter was released on August 25, 2014 as the 24th coin of the American the Beautiful Quarters Program.

Located in Colorado, the park was originally designated the Great Sand Dunes National Monument on March 17, 1932 and redesignated as a national park on November 22, 2000.

The park contains the tallest sand dunes in North America. The coin features a father and son playing in the sand next to a creek bed with the iconic sand dunes and mountains in the background.

I visited the park on October 10, 2021.
