Owner's Description

The September 1952 issue of Tween Age Digest magazine is referenced in Fredric Wertham’s “Seduction of the Innocent” (SOTI) in the text on pages 185-186.

Tween Age Digest is a magazine for children, and it contains several short comic stories. Wertham described the magazine as follows “A similar children’s magazine, Tween Age Digest, at twenty-five cents, also looks like a regular magazine, but has comic book sections. One of these is a supercondensed comic-book version of Don Quixote. You see him lying on the ground: ‘The servants beat Don Quixote mercilessly and although he swore vengeance, he was helpless as a beetle on his back.”
