1:100 ratio RRP cover by Adam Hughes. I do like this cover and I do very much enjoy Hughes artwork. When this issue released, I bought the reverse image cover of this artwork for my personal collection and I got Adam to sign it, unwitnessed at ECCC in 2006 or 2007. This RRP cover was not available at my LCS. The cover art does lend itself to the all red image pretty well, but probably as much because the art isn't Hughes best work by any stretch of the imagination. The great pile of bodies that Sonja is lounging upon don't have any variations in color value, and are instead just a big blob. Without that contrast of value, they don't show up at all on the reverse image or this all red image. I do think that Sonja looks strong and competent as a swordswoman in the cover art and I wouldn't want to challenge her, but the pose is just a little too much pin-up and not quite enough swordswoman for me.
Overall? Yeah - I spent my hard earned money on this, and I probably would again.
