A KEY ISSUE
FIRST OFFICIAL POST-CRISIS ISSUE OF ACTION COMICS.
JANUARY 1987
This is a CGC 9.8 (NM/MT) copy of Action Comics #584 featuring the start of the John Byrne relaunch. A Copper Age key in MT! This copy comes from a single-owner collection and is unread. It was selected from a stack of 30 copies on the day of its release and then immediately stored away in a mylar sleeve and preserved in a cool, dark place until being sent to CGC. This copy has brilliant colors, snow white pages, sharp corners, flawless spine and perfect cover placement.
Following the character-rebooting “Man of Steel” miniseries, this issue was the first official Post-Crisis issue of “Action Comics,” as writer/artist John Byrne and inker Dick Giordano turned “Action Comics” into a team-up series for a while. Byrne also wrote and drew the relaunched “Superman” solo series, while Marv Wolfman and Jerry Ordway took over the re-named “Adventures of Superman.”
