"Journey into Mystery #83" Homage

Wow. This is too incredible to believe. I won this. I mean, there’s only 15 of these graded at 9.8 on the registry (2 are signed; there’s even one graded at 9.4). I know. It’s another variant, but the price was right. I had to grab it for my collection. That’s one more marked off my list (12 more #1s to get); and they’re coming in cheaper than the regular issuance (there are 880+ of those graded at 9.8 and way, way overpriced in my humble opinion…but, people are paying those ridiculous high prices for the moment).

Synopsis for Thor #1:
The great hammer of MJOLNIR lies on the moon, unable to be lifted by anyone in all the heavens! Even Thor!—Something dark has befallen the God of Thunder, leaving him weakened and for the first time in forever…UNWORTHY! But when frost giants invade the Earth, the hammer is lifted, and an all-new THOR arises! A Thor unlike any ever seen before!

In all honesty, I do like the covers to the “variants.” I don’t really care much for the “cover” to the regular issuance—it’s too bland for my taste. A close-up of the Heroine’s face—really. No originality to it (but who cares about my opinion; right). As long I can hunt and find a good bargain, I’ll keep buying. And, despite my whining, I will break down eventually and buy a copy of the regular issuance sometime soon.
