Amazing Spider-Man #265 features the 1st appearance of Silver Sable!
Overstreet 2023 NM- 9.2 value = $80.
According to the CGC Census Report as of Tuesday, August 22, 2023, out of a total of 4,021 Universal copies graded, 904 copies were graded in 9.8 with ONLY 3 copies graded higher in 9.9!
With these statistics in mind, this represents a rarity factor of 22.48% of the total population.

In this 1985 June issue, we are introduced to Ms. Silver Sablinova, an attractive mercenary from the fictional small European state of Symkaria!
Silver’s early background consists of her father (Ernst Sablinov) leading the Wild Pack—a discrete group of bounty hunters who specialized in apprehending Nazi war criminals. Unfortunately, Silver’s mom—Anastasia Sablinova, was tragically killed after a group of Nazi terrorists bombed the house they were living in! Traumatized from having witnessed her mother’s untimely death, Silver pleaded with her father to train her in the combative arts so that she could seek vengeance.
After obtaining expert tactical hand-to-hand combat and weaponry training, her father passed away and she took over the Wild Pack under her new mercenary identity as Silver Sable! Furthermore, she carried out her father’s legacy and founded her own organization—Silver Sable International, where they evolved from bringing Nazi war criminals to justice to accepting various independent contracting jobs for profit.
With that being said, Silver Sable collaborated with the New York City Police Department in tracking down the thief known as the Black Fox. However, after the Wild Pack was within reach of apprehending him, Spider-Man arrived on the scene and inadvertently intercepted their operation—allowing the Black Fox to escape! Although Spider-Man would eventually recover the stolen jewels, he did not hold the Black Fox in custody, which did not set well with Silver Sable.
After their historical 1st meeting in trying to capture a common criminal, Silver Sable has primarily served as an ally to Spider-Man, but has also been an opponent on several occasions. This is reminiscent to Spider-Man’s ebb and flow relationship with the Black Cat (Felicia Hardy); so much that the two prominent female characters were scheduled to make their silver screen debuts in the film Silver & Black, which was originally announced in 2017, but was unfortunately never produced. Therefore, once Silver Sable makes her official Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut, prices for high-grade copies of ASM #265 are going to explode!
Although ASM #265 is not considered rare, as the combined total of Universal 9.6 and 9.8 copies equals more than half the population on the CGC Census, this particular 9.8 copy is exceptional because it is PERFECTLY WRAPPED and CENTERED and contains PERFECT WHITE PAGES!
In addition, the staples are perfectly inserted into the spine, the corners are razor sharp and the color saturation is deep and vibrant; as if the book was printed yesterday!
In closing, I purchased this pristine beauty from a-1comics (via eBay/Instagram) in November of 2020! The transaction and communication went extremely well and it was an awesome addition to Arachnophobia!
