Owner's Description

Hugh B. Miller was a U.S. Navy officer during WWII. Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, he played quarterback for the Crimson Tide before entering the military. After his ship was torpedoed, Miller was stranded on Arundel Island. After recovering from his injuries, Miller used hand grenades and a bayonet salvaged from a dead Japanese soldier to wage a one-man war against the enemy. He was rescued after 43 days on the island.
