Overstreet 2023 NM- 9.2 value = $80.
According to the CGC Census Report as of Tuesday, August 22, 2023, out of a total of 2,942 Universal copies graded, only 514 copies were graded in 9.8 with ONLY 5 copies graded higher: 4 in 9.9 and 1 in 10.0!
With these statistics in mind, this represents a rarity factor of only 17.47% of the total population!

NOW STRIKES THE HOBGOBLIN! In April of 1983, artists John Romita Jr. & Al Milgrom rendered the stunning front cover for Amazing Spider-Man #239, which depicts the historical 1st battle between Spider-Man & the Hobgoblin!
This action packed scene portrays the wicked Hobgoblin riding his jet-propelled glider accented with devil horns throwing a pumpkin bomb that explodes violently, with Spidey barely escaping as he swings away on his web while covering his face from the toxic fumes! The entire background is haunted with an eerie, close-up image of the Hobgoblin’s face, which emphasizes him as being one of Spider-Man’s most menacing and enduring foes!
I personally believe that this is a highly undervalued issue, but with record-breaking sales occurring across all grades for Amazing Spider-Man #238—1st appearance of the Hobgoblin, I believe that it’s only a matter of time in which demand for ASM #239 follows suit!
Although ASM #239 is not as rare in CGC 9.8 compared to the Silver and Bronze Age Keys featured in ARACHNOPHOBIA, the exceptional aesthetic properties that this particular copy exhibits make it VERY RARE!
For example, this beautiful specimen is PERFECTLY WRAPPED and CENTERED! The staples are perfectly inserted into the spine and there is not even a slight overlap of the front or back cover appearing on the opposite side! The corners are razor sharp and the color saturation is deep and vibrant; as if the book was printed yesterday!
In closing, I won this pristine copy in Comic Link’s Focused Auction in January of 2021! I was ecstatic when I was notified as the winning bidder and I’m proud to showcase this immaculate copy in Arachnophobia!
