Owner's Description
I've got to be totally honest; this book completely slipped past me during this storyline. It wasn't until it was recommended that this be added to this set that I looked into it. Once I educated myself, I completely agreed with this being added. When this was suggested I immediately started looking for it and found that there was only one Universal and one Signature Series 9.8 in the census. Luckily, the ss book was on eBay for $59.99 at that exact time so I snatched it up in anticipation of it being added. I really like this book and am happy to have it in my collection!
I included the book in the second picture because it is also a ss Lex Luthor book. Gene Hackman is one of mine and my Dad's favorite actors. He is a great actor, was a U.S. Marine like myself (although he admits he was not a very good one) and, from all I have read, is a very humble and generally quiet man; regardless of the many outgoing people he has played on screen.
One thing my Dad and I both enjoyed very much was going to the movies, or staying up late to watch a good old movie on the TV. I distinctly remember him taking me to see Superman: The Movie when I was twelve years old. My Dad was about 45 at the time and I think he was just as excited as I was. The movie had some great actors that he loved; Glenn Ford and Marlon Brando, not to mention Gene Hackman and Jackie Cooper.
I could not pass up on the chance to get this book and I enjoy showing it here alongside another Lex Luthor book. I like the bald guy better!
