Owner's Description

The official designation for the "Alligator" was LVT-1 (Landing Vehicle Tracked). Originally designed as a rescue vehicle for peace-time use, the design was modified to meet military specifications. On an interesting note, the contract to produce the craft was awarded to Food Machinery Corporation, a manufacturer of farm equipment.
