Giant-Man becomes Goliath in Issue #28, which also features the first appearance of the Collector.
The Collector is Taneleer Tivan who is one of the oldest living beings in the Universe. His species at Cygnus X-1 was one of the first to evolve after the Big Bang. Death took Tivan as the last surviving representative of the species and gave him total immortality. Tivan, as well as one representative of each of the first species of the Universe, cannot die. These people have associated among themselves to create the Elders of the Universe. Due to his complete obsession with collecting different objects and specimens, Tivan was given the title "Collector"; he controls a massive intergalactic trove containing a vast collection of both objects and living specimens.
Presiding over Knowhere and its lucrative Exitar mining colony, the Collector established his museum there. In 2013, he was given the Reality Stone by the Asgardians, which sparked his desire to collect the remaining Infinity Stones. The following year, he attempted to purchase the Power Stone from the Guardians of the Galaxy, although these plans fell through. In 2018 he was attacked by Thanos, who despoiled Knowhere to obtain the Reality Stone. Following the Blip, Tivan sold Knowhere to the Guardians of the Galaxy. The Collector was played by Benicia del Toro in the MCU.
In the story, Henry Pym calls the Avengers, telling them that he is Giant-Man and that the Wasp is missing. The Wasp has been captured by the Collector and the Beetle. The Scarlet Witch presents Hank with a new costume she'd just happened to have been sewing in the hopes that he might return to the team. Along with the new costume, he renames himself Goliath.
The Avengers enter the Collector's lair and get separated and captured but Goliath escapes and frees the other Avengers. They rescue the Wasp and force the Collector to escape with the Beetle using a time machine. Afterwards however, when Goliath tries to shrink down to his normal size, he collapses and faints at 10 feet.
