Owner's Description
Triple Cover… all three covers graded 9.8!
I call this book… The Triad
According to vocabulary.com (with a tiny addition of my own)…
A triad is three things or people considered as one unit.
To be a triad, three individual parts must also be considered a unit. A band with three members is a triad. A business with three divisions is a triad. A family with three members is a triad. A book with three volumes is a triad (usually called a trilogy). A super cool comic book with three covers all in 9.8 can be a triad. Triads are also called threesomes and trios.
To call a book this cool a threesome or trio would be very dumb…therefore…
Three cheers (one for each 9.8) for... The Triad!
Hip hip… HOORAY!!

I'm super happy to have this book! This is my second triple cover book from this set... the other is Superman: Man of Steel 18 which I call The Beast! That book did not make it into my competitive set due to me having a 9.9 copy, but it is in my Custom Set.
This book popped up on eBay one evening in late July 2023... it was listed for $700.00 BIN or Make an Offer. I really wanted it for my collection but was not thrilled about the price... I made an offer, the Seller countered, and I countered and we had a deal. I think we met at a place where we were both happy.
My first copy of this book was from the 'NO ONE CAN KILL SUPERMAN!' collection. That book helped get my set to 100 percent completion and I had it reholdered in February 2021. As much as I loved that book I feel that this Triple Cover book serves my competetive set a bit better due to it's uniqueness. I have my original copy in my custom set along with this one.
This is the last book in the competitive registry slot description order, and in the gallery. When first building my set, I had really been looking forward to including a book in that slot because I wanted to add the second image as the last gallery image of the competitive set. I wanted to do this to honor the two people that made this story possible, the creators of Superman;
Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster
Superman! Champion of the oppressed, the physical marvel who had sworn to devote his existence to helping those in need!
'...to devote his existence to helping those in need!'
Yes, he certainly did that during this storyline! Not stopping there, he went on to prove that he was willing to pay the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE to stop the monster Doomsday, and live up to his name... Superman!
Thanks go out to the creative team behind this amazing storyline that has impacted the lives of so many collectors like myself!
With that, lets also not forget about...
"Clark Kent, now there was a real gent..." Crash Test Dummies - Superman's Song
Enjoy the whole song at the below link, while also taking some time to reflect on how awesome this set is ;)
