Owner's Description
Molten Man appearance. Len Wein story. Ross Andru & Jim Mooney art. Ross Andru & John Romita cover. This October published issue, at the time of Halloween, finds the Molten Man faceplanting and looking for a cure. He is not wanting to die alone after the cure proved nonpermanent, but Spidey then frees the hostage to let freedom ring. Vapors and flammable gas leak and unravel the flames, and Spidey, who is hurt and getting out of the hospital, shows up to defend those that are helpless. Much to the chagrin of the authorities and or powers that be. Spidey isn't a step above in this issue but has been instead found on more equal footing to the Molten Man and subsequently more likely to then be burned. The poor Molten Man is on fire and reveling in his own disgust for his treatment and overall situation. He presents as pitiful but also gutless and or needs more discipline. Oh, what a cruel, cruel world. ~ Wizard of OZ.
Complete with a back cover picture of said Halloween facepalm hijinks by way of Comic-Con 2024 that makes or breaks the levity for such an altercation between Spidey and the Molten Man. Having no Faith, Hope, or Love causes the desperate to recount and not always recant.
Grader Notes:
multiple staple rusted;
spine stress lines.
