Owner's Description
Issue #50. Away from the ruined prison, Carl and Rick are on their own. They take shelter in an abandoned house. Despite having taken some antibiotic pills, Rick is fighting off an infection from a large cut in his abdomen. Rick is passed out and has a high fever. Carl has never felt this alone in his life.
Thinking his father was dead and reanimating, he points the gun at him, but soon realizes that he is just sick. Grieving aloud, Carl attracts nearby roamers to their house. Carl runs outside and tries to distract them to another home, but is overwhelmed by three zombies. He successfully kills all three.
Carl runs home and proudly tells his unconscious father how he took out 3 zombies by himself. He soon becomes depressed, scared, and angry, and claims that he will be fine by himself without anyone's protection.
In the middle of the night Rick moans and crawls toward Carl. Carl points his gun at his father but could not shoot him. Carl resigns to being alone and helpless and allowing his father to eat him. But it turns out that Rick is still alive. Rick moans that he is sick, he tells Carl to stay inside and to stay safe. Carl confesses to his father that he is scared.
