This $5.99, 96 page issue is a variant cover by Adam Hughes. This is also the conclusion of Lex Luthor's Black Ring saga. Superman returns to Action Comics after a year long absence from the title, ready for a mega showdown with Luthor. Doomsday makes an appearance and Superman renounces his U.S. citizenship.
The arrival of this book continued what I believe to be a curse on my Action Comics anniversary issues. I won this book on eBay but the seller accidently sent me the wrong book. Once I sent the book back, the correct book arrived in a damaged holder. Action Comics #'s 600 and 700 (both in first generation CGC holders) also arrived in damaged holders. Action Comics #400 came in a holder with several distracting inner well scuffs. To date, Action Comics #'s 500 and 800 were the only ones to come to me without holder issues.
