Story Summary:

Roberto DaCosta has mutated into an utter darkness that wants to consume as much light as possible. He has already enveloped and consumed Peter Rasputin (Collosus) and attacked and knocked out Professor X and is about to envelop Moira MacTaggert when Rahne enters the room and alters her form to a tall beautiful redhead and radiates enough light to bring Bobby back to some semblance of normalcy.

The Prof comes to and Sam and Dani enter the lab, inadvertently scaring Bobby into teleporting himself and Rahne to somewhere. The Prof reads Sam and Dani's minds and learns of the origin of Cloak and Dagger, the drug that created them, the variation of the drug used on Bobby and Rahne (MTU Annual #6), the supposed healing of them by Cloak and Dagger and the attack on C&D by Bobby and Rahne that has returned C&D back to normal humans and given B&R a variation of their powers. WHEW!

Meanwhile Ty and Tandy, the newly normal C&D have left the hospital since Ty believes the mutants won't take no for an answer in regards to getting their help with Bobby & Rahne, and he wants no part of it.

Meanwhile again, in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle, we see Magneto actually apologize to Aleytys for being an egotistical arse to her in the last issue.

Bobby & Rahne appear at St. Anne's Church and Bobby begs for Father Bowen's help.

Ty & Tandy discuss what they each have to go back to now and then leave when a charlatan tries to "help" them only to turn to some kids. Normally Ty &Tandy would help the kids with their powers, but they can't anymore.

At the church, Rahne turns into a silver wolf and enters Bobby to rescue Peter, nearly winds up stuck in Bobby right along with Peter, but manages to break them both free just in time to see that Prof X and the other New Mutants have arrived at the church to help. Due to expenditure of power, Bobby & Rahne revert to normal for the time being.

Ty and Tandy argue with each other about going to help the kids. Ty says no but Tandy doesn't want to abandon them.

Back at the church, Peter is unconscious but ok. Bobby &Rahne are out from sheer exhaustion. Dani tries to tap into Bobby to help the Prof determine what he can do, but the darkness within Bobby strikes out and attacks everyone.

Illyana summons her soul sword and swipes through Dani, breaking the connection. Then she takes it upon herself to teleport herself & Bobby & Rahne to limbo and casts a spell to rid the two of their afflictions but it backfires and both sets of powers overtake Illyana, nearly tearing her apart. She manages to filter them back to the two and teleports them back to the church.

The Prof berates her for acting foolishly and without direction and just then, Ty and Tandy show up and agree to help...

Continued in issue #25!!

Personal Notes:

This is one of the moments I was dreading about in this series. There were hints of a future problem with Sunspot and Wolfsbane because of those drugs they were injected with and here they are being all screwed up.

Ty's reluctance to help them really irked me at first but then he described what he went through as Cloak and I found that I really couldn't blame him for the way he felt.

Illyana has made some real strides in the use of her powers, but seeing her make a big decision without the Prof's say-so (with negative results) showed that she still had some things to learn.

The one funny thing in this issue is when the Prof berates Sam for wearing a black Lila tank top and jeans, saying that he expects his students to have at least some decency in their clothing. Personally I think he looks cool in it. So do most of the others. LOL

C'mon Professor X, Lila IS Sam's girlfriend after all!
