Owner's Description

This book replaced a Universal 9.8 that I had gotten off of ComicLink. I talk about that book in my Custom Set, where it has it's own slot. I added this Signature Series book in February 2023. The night prior, I had bought the Signature Series 9.8 Adventures of Superman 498 Third Printing. I woke up the next morning to see that the same seller had listed this one since I had gone to bed. I thought the price was very reasonable for a twice signed book... but I had just bought the other book the night prior! I decided to go ahead and message the seller to see if they would do any type of deal if I bought both. They did knock a few dollars off of this book and combined shipping, so we had a deal. At the time, this was the only regular printing of Superman 75 that I did not have a Signature Series copy of.

I originally got the Universal 9.8 third and fourth printings around the same time, but the fourth was the last to come in the mail. I created the image in the second picture slot when it arrived in order to illustrate the logo/text color changes on these books. In the case of the other later prints from this set it was just the front of the book that had color variations in the logo/text. In Superman 75's case they also changed the color of the text on the back of the books, which is pretty cool. My favorite is probably the green or blue. It is also worth noting that the first and second printings just reversed the colors from front to back; the first printing had yellow logo/text on front, with white text on back while the second has white logo/text on front, and yellow text on back. I wonder if this was because it was easy, or if they weren't expecting a third and fourth printing to follow? I guess we'll never know.

I really enjoy the way all four printings look lined up in the second image and was excited to create it for this gallery. I have since added Signature Series copies of all of these books, but like keeping this picture as it was when I first got all four printings together... I remember when it was just a dream to have all of these printings! So much work to bring all of these books together!

Note - I later also found two raw copies of this book at different LCSs on the same day and submitted them both... both came back 9.8! Cool!
