Owner's Description

Kingston, NY The State of New York NB Ch. # 955 PMG 25 $5 1875 Fr. 401 SN 6889/V229373 pp A dtd. May 10th, 1865. Paper with two continuous horizontal threads. 3-$1, 1-$2, 1-$5 Orig.; 6-$1, 4-$2, and this $5 for Series of 1875; survived to issue Type 2 notes. The only Series 1875 $5 reported from this Ulster County bank. It features sharp ink colors and dark black pen signatures of F. (Francis) A. Waters, Cashier and E. (Elijah) DuBois, President. The Continental BN Co. is found in the lower border.
