Owner's Description
New York, NY Liberty NB & TC Ch. # 12352 Fr. 609 Speelman | White PMG 15 $5 1902 PB Fr. 609 SN 2002 pp B/1290 Beautiful engraved signatues with a not so common cashier. Fun to see radar SN 2002 above Series of 1902, a hundred year difference. Note is dated Apr. 9, 1923. At least three BEP-engraved signature combinations are found on Series 1902 notes of the two bank titles of this charter number. Earlier notes have Cashier W. Irving Granville and Vice President Robert W. Daniel. Cashier Granville is later paired with President C.F. Daly. This note features the Second title which only appeared on large size notes for barely a year and we find President Daniel returning to the fold only to be paired with a different cashier, W.A. Maher. This last officer tandem ushered in the Series 1929 era and they were followed by at least one more officer duo on notes. PMG has noted a very light blue "annotation" on the back that does not detract in any way. This bank did not yet reach a decade of service to the City of New York before it folded under the pressures of The Great Depression.
