Owner's Description
These newly designed 1972 Series C notes continued with the same colours as the previously issued notes and feature the same effigy of Maximo Jerez a Nicaraguan politician and military leader from the mid 19th century. On the reverse of the note shows "ganaderia" cattle farming. The same design was used again in 1978 for the series D.
There is a 6 digit and 7 digit variety as they were released in two separate executive decrees. These notes are very scarce to find in UNC and this example is a specimen.
The first decree # 73-MEIC on the 26th of April 1972 authorised 500,000 notes from 000001 - 500000. The second decree # 76-MEIC on the 13th of March 1974 authorised a further 2 million banknotes from serial numbers 500001 - 2500000.
