Owner's Description

1938 was a busy year for fractional currency in Nicaragua. This note which was an all new design produced by Hamilton Bank Note Co, and the other issue for the year P89 which was similar to the previous 1912 issue (P54). These notes featured the previous Finance Minister's signature from Don Jose Benito Ramirez.

I believe there was a total of 500,000 of these notes produced and authorised for circulation in two or more separate decrees. I don't have the details on the first or possibly 2 first issues just Executive decree # 79 declaring 206,000 50 Centavos banknotes as legal tender. From serial numbers 294001 - 500000.
