Owner's Description

The famous black eagle in AU 55 with EPQ. Almost flawless for its age. This note has the impressive eagle holding the American flag in its talens and wing spread blocking or protecting the National Capital Building and the Supreme Court. Lincoln and Grant have their portraits wreathed on the front of the silver certificate. A powerful reminder of Federalism so close to the end of the Civil War. This is a fitting note to celebrate the turn of the century.
