Owner's Description

Toms River, NJ The First NB Ch. # (E)2509 PMG 25 $5 1882 VB Fr. 574 Rotator SN 6889/T924671 pp D/160 dtd. March 4, 1901. A popular large size note from this Ocean County bank. This 1882 $5 Value Back is a far scarcer type with only an unsightly PMG VG 8 Net appearing about a decade ago. The Low family provided officers for the FNB and here you'll see legible, but slightly faded signatures of Robert H. Arney, Cashier and Henry A. Low, President (1910-1925). Henry Low was Cashier from 1896-1909, succeeding Wm. A Low who was the first Cashier starting in 1881 along with President John Aumack.
