SIGN OF THE TIME
This note features the signature of David H.F. Somerset.
Somerset was the 26th Chief Cashier of the Bank of England, serving from March 1, 1980 to February 28, 1988.

Gordon Richardson was Governor of the Bank of England when this note was issued. He was the Bank’s 116th Governor, serving from July 1, 1973 to June 30, 1983.
