The Series 1934 Silver Certificate was a one-year only design, as it is the only series to have a blue "one" printed on the front.

SIGNS OF THE TIME

This series features a Julian/Morgenthau signature combination.

William A. Julian was the 28th Treasurer of the United States, serving from June 1, 1933 until his death on May 29, 1949. He was appointed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and continued into the administration of President Harry S. Truman.

Henry Morgenthau, Jr. was the 52nd Secretary of the Treasury, serving from January 1, 1934 to July 22, 1945. He was appointed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and continued into the administration of President Harry S. Truman.
