Owner's Description

Newton, MA The Newton NB Ch. # 13252 $5 PB Fr. 611 PMG 64 SN 4931 pp C/1563. The Newton NB, along with 8 other late-chartering banks of the large-size era, received the Woods | Tate signature combination and issued 5127 sheets of $5s only. This signature combination was only used from May 31, 1928 - January 21, 1929 and was followed by Jones | Woods. Bank officers' engraved signatures were James B. Melcher, Cashier and Thomas Weston, President.
