Owner's Description

Albion, NY – The Citizens NB Ch. # 4998 $10 1929 Type 1 PMG 30 SN E000418A pp K51/49. A bright and well margined example with less than a half dozen small reported. One of three banks in this Orleans County town and the only one to issue series 1929 Small sized Nationals and only Type 1s ($5s, $10s and $20s). Albion is the oldest known name of the island of Great Britain. Today, it is still sometimes used poetically to refer to the island. It is the basis of the Scottish Gaelic name for Scotland, Alba.
