Owner's Description

This note was acquired to show the first redesign of the $10 note, before they started adding the colors and other more advanced security features.

The use of this design started in 2000. This was the first major / complete redesign of the $10 bill since the US started using the small size currency in 1929. Yeah, there were smaller changes during that time - getting rid of gold and silver redemption among others - but that old design was in use for a staggering 71 years. This design, by contrast, was only in use for 6 years.
