Owner's Description:
The note included for this Set is the 25000 Gulden as the highest denomination issued in 2000 (P154a). This is also the key note for the very popular ‘birds’ set and features a spectacled owl on the front alongside the Surinamese Coat of Arms, and the signature of the President of the Centrale Bank Henk Otmar Goedschalk. The back depicts the Central Bank building and the Carribean Spider lilly.
Owner's Description:
The representative note is a remainder 100 pesos note for which two Series, A and B, were printed and these can often be found as an uncut sheet of two notes (S215). It is interesting that this note is almost at the end of the production run from May 1888 (Series A, S/N 9983 of 10000) as the back is yellow rather than orange which indicates the earlier 1887 printing even though all issues bear the date of 20 September 1887. On the left is a portrait of the Vittorio Emmanuele II, the first King o...

The front of the note shows General Jose Gervasio Artigas (1764-1850), considered a national hero in Uruguay, given the pivotal military and political roles he played in gaining independence from the Spanish and Portuguese. The back is another representation of independence and depicts ‘The Oath of the thirty-three Orientales’ a painting by Juan Manuel Blanes where, in 1825, e...
Owner's Description:
The representative note is an example of the latest round of inflation suffered by Venezuela. It is a 20000 Bolivar Soberano (P110b) which was issued in 2019 as all of the other denominations of this currency had lost all of their value. On the front is a portrait of Simon Bolivar who was a key figure in securing the independence of Venezuela, and a number of other countries, from the Spanish. The back depicts his tomb, the ‘Mausoleum of the Liberator’ and the National Pantheon in Caracas, the C...
