The Maryland Colonial General Assembly authorized 60,000 of this denomination. This MD-2 XF-40 (1 Shilling, 6 Pence) Note is a fine surviving example with the complete Counterfoil included that has been repaired. The specimen makes for a nice addition to my specialized 1733 Resolution Series Set. The Maryland Colonial General Assembly authorized 60,000 of this denomination for this emission. As of the time of this writing, PMG has graded only eight (8) MD-2 specimens with five (5) in higher grade. |
