Set Description:
Set of six prints, $5 to $500 set, printed from the original plates ordered from and designed by S. Straker and Sons in London England. While a few hundred of the plates were finished and shipped in 3 shipments in early 1864, the plates were never actually used during the war because they were not successfully brought through the blockade, and disappeared until 12-15 years after the war was over. I have added them to my Confederate Collection because they are an interesting part of the history of the CSA and the illustrate the difficulties they faced trying to start a new country while fighting for their existence at the same time.
