Set Description:
The Partition of India in 1947 led to the emergence of Pakistan as a separate national entity. In the initial years the Government of Pakistan used existing Indian notes printed at the Nasik Press as its Paper Money. The words 'Government of Pakistan' in English and 'Hukumat-e-Pakistan' in urdu in the watermark window were overprinted at Nasik Press. They remained in circulation until they were denometized in 1949. They were replaced by their own Pakistani currency.
