All notes from 1973, 1981, 1996, 2003, 2008, 2020 Series. Qatar is the 3rd largest exporter of natural gas.
I am a petroleum Engineer and worked in Saudi Arabia for 25 years. During that time, I had the opportunity to travel to all the Gulf countries including Qatar. My favorite notes are Qatar P-12 and P-19 (the 500 riyals from 1981 and 1996)
which show an offshore jack-up similar to what I worked on in Saudi. The exact rig I did work on (AMDP-2) is shown on the front of Saudi P-18 (the 10 riyal from 1976). And, the refinery where my father worked (in Ras Tanura) is shown on the back of that note.
For sure the toughest note (I hope to upgrade) is the Qatar P-6.
The first note I got in my collection was at age 8, when I received an uncirculated Saudi P-7a as part of my allowance. If only my dad had later given me a Saudi P-7b to go with it ... ha, ha.
