Set Description:
The World's Happiest Notes Collection: Disney Dollars
Disney Dollars have been a monumental source of joy, fulfillment, and shared memories for our family. The spark that started this journey was our very first acquisition back in the early 2010s: a DIS65 Millennium Series Mickey Mouse note. Over the past 16 years, building this collection together has created countless moments of family bonding, bringing smiles to our faces every single time we review the portfolio.
Every single Disney Dollar showcased in this collection has been certified by PMG with the prestigious Exceptional Paper Quality (EPQ) designation. Reflecting our pursuit of condition rarity, an incredible 43 examples featured in this registry are PMG Top Pop notes.
Denomination Highlights & Condition Rarities
Below is a selection of the Top Pop standouts representing each denomination ($1, $5, $10, and $50) within the collection:
$1 Denomination — DIS77 (2002 Series):
Disneyland $1 featuring the iconic Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse, celebrating "100 Years of Magic." This piece is graded PMG 69 EPQ Superb Gem Uncirculated—making it 1 of only 4 examples to ever achieve this near-flawless pinnacle grade.
$5 Denomination — DIS39 (1995 Series):
Featuring Goofy, this is one of the absolute rarest Disney Dollar types across the entire registry. PMG has a total population of only 4 examples ever graded for this note. This featured centerpiece is preserved in PMG 67 EPQ Superb Gem Uncirculated condition.
$10 Denomination — DIS17 (1990 Series):
Featuring Minnie Mouse and graded PMG 68 EPQ Superb Gem Uncirculated. It stands proudly as 1 of only 2 examples to achieve the highest recorded PMG grade for the catalog number.
$50 Denomination — DIS120 (2005 Series):
The crown jewel of our highest denomination category. This Disneyland $50 "Boyer" note features an ultra-low, three-digit serial number (000336) and is adorned with highly coveted Courtesy Autographs from artists Charles Boyer and Bruce Boyer. Out of a tiny population of only 24 examples ever graded by PMG, this piece is graded PMG 68 EPQ Superb Gem Uncirculated—placing it among just 5 examples to secure the highest accolade.
A Numismatic Coincidence: The year 2005—which gave us our prized $50 Boyer note—marks the exact year that PMG was founded. Today, it stands globally as the largest and most trusted third-party paper money grading service.
In an era where physical banknotes are becoming increasingly scarce and digital currencies are rapidly gaining popularity, our family feels privileged to preserve these tangible pieces of art and magic. We look forward to eventually completing the entire Disney Dollars fully certified by PMG, continuing a multi-generational hobby that celebrates family unity.
Our sincere thanks go to the PMG Registry for providing global collectors with a phenomenal platform to organize, document, and share these treasures with a community of like-minded enthusiasts. Happy collecting to all!
