NOTES: Pick 6a was authorized and issued by the Ukrainian government, Pick 6b was unauthorized and issued by invading forces.

Several varieties exist. AO 189, Small Grid on Back (1918). AO 190 - 209, Large Grid on Back (1918). AO 210 - 235, issued by general Denikin (1919). AO 236 - 250, issued by the Soviet government (1920).

Blocks numbers were used consecutively from AO 189 - AO 250, issued in Odessa.

Specimens are two piece with one front and one rear completing a set, varying serial numbers were used.

Pick #'s 2-6 all have the same design, 2-3 are a different denomination. Notes of this design were issued by several governments, 50 karbovantsiv notes were printed by the Central Rada, Hetman Skoropadski, Dyrektoria and General Denikin. All were printed using different clichés resulting in the number of Picks.

Similar to Pick #1, the cliché for this note was confiscated by Soviet forces in 1918 during the invasion of Kyiv. The White Russian Volunteer Army of General Anton Denikin printed this note in great quantity shortly after the cliché was obtained. The last multi-million run of this note was printed at the directive of the Soviet government in Kharkiv in 1920 after the Bolsheviks captured the cliché. Banknotes of the AO series with serial numbers up to 209 are deemed to be authentic, those with numbers 210-235 are regarded as forgeries produced by the Whites of General Denikin, and the those with numbers 236-250 as Bolshevik forgeries.
