Owner's Description

This note is prior to Canada’s Confederation when the Town of Clifton that is now amalgamated into the municipality of Niagara Falls, had their own bank. With the Erie canal the entire Niagara area opened up so the township of Clifton needed their own bank. The front of this bank note shows the international railway bridge at what would now be closer to Lewiston on a gorgeous vignette on the front top of the Banknote in the background, you can see both the American and the Horseshoe Falls along with two steam train engines crossing the bridge, in the foreground on the lower left is a vignette of Niagara University on the American side. On the bottom right is an allegory vignette for the steam industry with a woman holding a sledgehammer sitting on a steam engine. This note is choice about uncirculated 58. It is very rare to get it in this condition.
