Owner's Description

1-leu 1966 was used from 1966 to 1992, one of the longest series in circulation in modern times. The Banknote has a nice guilloche design with Romania coat of arms. The banknote size is 103 x 52 mm, was issued on paper with rhombuses pattern watermark by the National Bank of Romania. This banknote circulated in parallel with 1 leu coin, thus the low series range from 0001 to 0038. The first series were issued with narrow letter in the prefix, later, a wide letter was used. The banknote included in the set is using wide letter E. The banknote is graded 68 EPQ, it is the second-best grade (the Top Pop is graded 68EPQ*). Personal Note: Similar banknotes I had frequently in my hand during my childhood, for candies.
