FR.2300 PMG 67 EPQ BROWN SEAL Signatures:Julian / Morgenthau serial # S43200477C
As an economic defense precaution against Japanese invasion and occupatioon of HAWAII, specially marked US currency was issued there in JULY of 1942, to replace other types in circulation. Distinguished by a brown seal and serial numbers , HAWAII overprints on face and back, such notes could have been declared worthless in the event large numbers of them were captured.
