High grade!
Launched in 1991, this note (and the series to which it belongs) was used as a temporary currency to replace the Yugoslav dinar immediately after the independence of Slovenia and was demonetized between 1992 and 1994. The ZA prefix indicates that this is a replacement note.
On the front, it features Mount Triglav (the highest peak in Slovenia, towering at 2864 meters), which embodies the deep connection Slovenians have with their land, serving as a revered cultural icon and a national rite of passage. It is also represented on the Slovenian flag.
On the back, the Prince’s Stone used for the installation site (and throne) for the princes of Carantania and later the dukes of Carinthia. The installation ceremony was historically conducted in the Slovene language, making it a celebrated symbol of Slavic statehood and Carinthian history.
