Owner's Description

Obverse: Imperial Seal of Japan (kikukamon) - a stylised chrysanthemum blossom. Cockerel (rooster) sitting on wheat ears and corn in center. Ninomiya Sontoku (1787-1856) was a prominent 19th-century Japanese agricultural leader, philosopher, moralist and economist. on right.
Obverse Colors: Black on light brown underprint.
Reverse: Sun symbol. Leafy guilloche design.
Reverse Colors: Blue
Signatures: Red signature seals.
Issuer: Bank of Japan (Nippon Ginko).
Date of issue: 19 March 1946.
