Owner's Description

Geneseo, NY The Genesee Valley NB Ch. # 886 PMG 12 $5 1882 BB Fr. 472 SN 10203/Y309316 ppA/31 dtd. Aug. 22, 1892. This is a well-circulated note on a Livingston County bank with a deep red seal. Only 3 $5 Brown Backs reported. Excellent pen signatures of Theo. F. Olmsted, Cashier (1888-1914) and Colonel John R. Strang, Vice President. Long time President was James W. Wadsworth (1877-1887 and 1892-1914). Theo. F. Olmsted succeeded Wadsworth (1915-1928). In 1929, J.W. Wadsworth, Jr. became president and served until 1933. New NY Seal.
