Roanoke Rapids, NC The First NB Ch. # (S)5767 (1st title for Weldon, NC, 2d title for Roanoke Rapids as of 7/1/1912) PMG 25 $20 1882 VB Fr. 584 SN 4657/V489305 pp A/145 dtd. Apr. 11, 1900. Pleasant town name and a rarity that Mike Coltrane acquired in 1989. A sharp example of a very rare type and denomination for North Carolina; this piece is one of only five $20 Value Backs reported for the entire state and the only one in the census for this charter. Also, for the country, this is only the 4th Fr. 584 in Heritage's archives. ex Mike Coltrane
