Owner's Description

This almost uncirculated Treasury Note from 1891, which I shall call the "1891 McPherson Military Note," depicts General James Birdseye McPherson in full military uniform. General McPherson died in the Civil War in 1864 at age 35, fighting for the Union Army in Atlanta. He was the second highest ranking Union officer to die in the Civil War.

The reverse of this note is not as ornate as the 1890 Treasury Note, but it is a beautiful note. Acquired eBay 2013.
