Owner's Description

A new issue of the 100,000 livres, pick 100a, and the second of this denomination in 2023. This note was made smaller in size than the previous 100,000 notes. Green cedar on both sides. Blue three-dash security thread to the left, and 100,000 in Arabic vertically to the right on the front face. Grapes, grains and threads on back side, in addition to 100,000 in the four corners. This note was issued on July 3 2023, and this is the last note to be signed by Mr. Riad Salameh, Governor of BDL, before he retired on July 31 2023. This note is arguably the first ever note signed by a governor of a central bank who was at the time on the Interpol red list after two countries, France and Germany, accused him of fraud in May 2023.
