NOTABLE ABOUT THIS NOTE

We see it, so we believe it: It’s interesting to note that official BEP production reports for Series 2009 never listed a $1 star note for the St. Louis district, but it was later confirmed that a run of 10,000 sheets of the H* note was indeed printed.

SIGNS OF THE TIME

This series features a Rios/Geithner signature combination.

Rosa “Rosie” Gumataotao Rios was the 43rd Treasurer of the United States, serving from August 6, 2009 to July 11, 2016. She was appointed by President Barack Obama.

Timothy F. Geithner was the 75th Secretary of the Treasury, serving from January 26, 2009 to January 25, 2013. He was appointed by President Barack Obama.

MEANWHILE, AT THE FED...

Ben Bernake was Chairman of the Federal Reserve when this note was printed. Initially appointed by President George W. Bush, he worked under two presidents, serving from February 1, 2006 to January 31, 2014.
